The New Ministry of Darkness

In 1998 the WWE, or WWF at the time, decided that The Undertaker, or Taker, needed something to make him relevant during the Attitude Era. The Ministry of Darkness was a stable, or group, of mind-washed wrestlers who would do The Undertaker's bidding, which mostly consisted of attacking and brainwashing other superstars for the 'higher power'. This 'higher power' idea would ultimately ruin an entire year's worth of story building by confusing and angering the WWE Universe with the unveiling of Vince McMahon, the one man The Ministry tortured the most, as the leader of the group. The whole story bombed and some of the wrestlers involved would never recover from the incident.

Now that Taker has allegedly retired, it's time he took on a manager role that would reform The Ministry of Darkness. All anyone can talk about is how great a Taker feud would be with the likes of Sting, Finn Balor, or another rivalry with Bray Wyatt would be but what if he became their allies instead of enemies. To become more powerful you need allies and who do you know better than your most hated enemies? These are the men you study enough to understand every weakness and flaw of, but you also know their strengths.

Since their were nine members in the original group we can use that same number here starting with Taker and Sting, the enforcers. Sting can use the group to battle Triple H in a rematch from WrestleMania 31 to even the odds since Triple H has a stable of his own with Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens. Sting tells Taker that he will help him assemble a team so powerful that not even The Authority can stop it, and thus will become the new authority of WWE.

The first three members come from NXT to their main roster debuts in the form of The Authors of Pain, or AoP. Paul Ellering, a WWE Hall of Famer, is the leader of the group and brings Akam and Rezar's muscle to Taker as hit men essentially. They are let loose on the tag team division and would capture the WWE Tag Team Championships after only two weeks of debuting.

After The Club lost the tag team titles to The AoP, Finn Balor would turn on his singles partner, AJ Styles, and tag team partners, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Finn Balor would walk out on them during a rematch for the titles, but would return to the ring as the Demon King and attack his former Club members, joining the AoP and the Ministry.

Aleister Black is fighting Baron Corbin in his main roster debut when Sting and Taker came out to announce that their would be a sacrifice that night, giving the AoP and Balor an opening to jump both men from behind and take them out of the arena. Corbin and Black would show up the next week alongside Balor to battle Styles, Gallows, and Anderson.

The Wyatt Family would be the first opponents that went to war both physically and mentally with The Ministry of Darkness, and almost succeeded. Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Luke Harper, Eric Rowan, and new member Sawyer Fulton would challenge Taker and his group to a traditional Survivor Series match at the Pay Per View after months of back and forth action between the two stables. Fulton and Black would be eliminated early, followed by Corbin and Rowan. Strowman would eliminate Balor before being eliminated by the AoP, who then eliminated Harper. Wyatt fights back and is successful, eliminating Rezar, but as he hits Sister Abigail on Akam, Eric Rowan's old singles theme music plays followed by Rowan storming down the ramp and attacking Wyatt, making him the final member to The Ministry.

Now that this new group has formed and has already shown dominance they can begin to take over the WWE as a whole, starting with Baron Corbin winning the Intercontinental Championship, Rowan winning the United States Championship and Aleister Black winning the Cruiser Weight Championship. The Authors of Pain are still Tag Team Champions so Taker sends Balor after the WWE Championship so they can hold every championship in the WWE.

Sting battles Triple H at WrestleMania to decide who will become the new GM of Raw and, of course, Sting wins after run-ins from all of The Ministry and The Authority. A dark cloud will come over the WWE from that point on and for a year rivalries for the titles can take place but all ministry members stand tall at the end of each rivalry.

The night after a PPV, where the AoP lost the championships to The Club, Paul Ellering tells The Undertaker that he is losing his power so he takes his tag team and leaves the group. A few weeks later there is a match between Balor and Wyatt where everyone from each group is band from ringside via the orders of Sting but half way through the match Rowan comes out and attacks Balor instead of Wyatt explaining later that the plan all along was to get one of The Wyatt Family members on the inside so they could destroy it easier. Black and Corbin rekindle their rivalry tearing them apart from The Ministry leaving only Taker, Sting, and Balor.

Sting comes out one night and says that he had failed The Ministry then steps down as GM of Raw and Taker comes out to Tombstone him. The Undertaker tells Balor that although they had a good run it was time for him to return to Death Valley, so he gives Balor his urn and leaves.

This would be the perfect way to create a new mega group in the WWE that has a credible breakup and a fantastic start to finish story line that makes everyone feel like a threat and boosts everyone's careers, instead of ruining careers like the last Ministry did. It gives Taker that last goodbye they want him to have that doesn't have him wrestling plus it brings prestige to each championship won during the rivalry. A fantastic stable to give the fans a taste of the Attitude Era they've been asking for for the past couple years, and that is The Ministry of Darkness reincarnated.
