Independent wrestling promotions across the world are taking note of the growing popularity of luchador wrestling, a traditional Mexican style. Men and women in masks, hiding their true identities and sometimes embodying a completely new one. The mystic elements surrounding Lucha Underground, an American promotion dedicated to the lucha style, has become a silent force within the wrestling community, sparking a flame that has spread like wildfire. That said, the WWE still can't seem to grasp how lucha wrestling should be treated, an example being Lucha House Party. Running around with pinatas and yelling "ole" is offensive to both the culture and style of Mexican wrestling. The best way to approach this problem inside the WWE is to create interesting characters that can captivate audiences.

1.) Adding Rey Mysterio: Scenario one would be to add in a 'veteran', insert Rey Mysterio, to give legitimacy to the group and become a mentor figure. The issue with this idea is that Gran Metalik is in his 13th year as a pro wrestler, Kalisto at 12 years, and Lince Dorado at 11. That being said, Mysterio will be celebrating 30 years of pro wrestling this coming year. Putting a veteran of WWE in with these wrestlers who are relatively new to the WWE landscape would benefit both the group and Mysterio, LHP getting credibility and Mysterio getting pushed as a 'big deal'.

2) Another version of the 'adding a wrestler' scenario is focused more on utilizing a hyped up debut in Ricochet. He has been down in NXT for a little while but speculation says he will be moving up sooner than anticipated. I personally think he should stay in NXT under his Ricochet name and at the same time debut as a member of LHP under a former ring name, Prince Puma, his masked persona, channeling a more aggressive version of his aerial assault. This would create an interesting narrative that, if Ricochet puts on the mask, he transforms into an entirely new person both mentally and physically. This scenario is more beneficial for Ricochet but in turn would boost the mystique of the group as a whole, allowing all of the masked men channel their inner spirit animal.

Simply adding Ricochet to Lucha House Party, excluding the fantasy side of the Prince Puma character, would instantly slap the silly out of the pens of creative and the pinatas out of Lince Dorado's hands. Including Mysterio would force the company's head executives to take the group seriously, as well. This all said, taking out the pinatas, turning the shinny faces into mystic dark heels, or antiheroes, would help the group without having to bring in more members, which could quite possibly be the best and most feasible option.
