For the past several years it has been said that Roman Reigns was the next John Cena, a baby faced, superhuman wrestler who was hated by the fans for the companies lack of interest in other wrestlers. While Cena was given championship reign after championship reign, Reigns was handed five WrestleMania main events in a row, a record not even Hulk Hogan or The Undertaker can match. After five tiresome years at the top, however, Reigns' spotlight was smashed when he was told that his leukemia had returned. The WWE Universe stood by him and will continue to support him through his journey, hoping for a triumphant return in the future. Some are speculating that upon his return he will be met with pomp and circumstance, fitting a man who just battled cancer. But does he deserve to be given praise for his life outside of wrestling when he has been given nothing but rage and booking backlash for so many years?

Absolutely he does.

There is no doubt about it, when Roman Reigns makes his return to the ring, he will be given what he deserves: a warriors welcome. Plain and simple. There is no denying the reaction he got from his fans during his run at the top but that was a fictional character, created by the WWE. When the crowd flipped from boo's to cheers they weren't changing their minds on the Roman Reigns character, they weren't even cheering Reigns. They were cheering for Joe Anoa'i.

I would actually purpose that if Roman Reigns does return to the ring in the future, he should return under his real name, paying homage to the battle he has won. He didn't defeat cancer with a Superman Punch or a Spear but with will and determination and, most importantly, with family. The Anoa'i legacy flows through Joe and should be center stage in his victorious return. So the real question isn't 'will Roman come back' or 'will he be cheered' but rather, 'When is Joe Anoa'i making his return'?
